Every member of the Ellinger Volunteer Fire Department is a volunteer. No one here is paid to run toward trouble. The crew trains together, keeps the trucks ready, and turns out for fires, wrecks, and emergencies across the Ellinger area of Fayette County.
The department works out of the station at 220 Main Street and is funded by the community it protects. When the pager goes off, folks leave their jobs, their dinners, and their beds to answer it. That is the whole promise: when your neighbor needs help, someone comes.

No experience required. We train you. Ellinger's fire department runs on volunteers, and there is a place for you on the crew, whether you want to be on the nozzle or backing up the people who are.

Firefighter
Train to respond to fires, wrecks, and emergencies alongside the crew. The department provides the training and the gear. You bring the willingness to show up when a neighbor needs help, at 2 in the afternoon or 2 in the morning.
This is a design concept, so there is no sign-up form here. Real volunteers reach the department by email or Facebook. In an emergency, always call 911.
